The Jouy dress is made from medium-weight linen in an over-sized, unstructured shape. Of course there are pockets!  This dress/tunic can be worn as a cool dress, with a top and tights underneath, and as a layering top with pants.

This fabric was discovered in a shop in Paris and carried home in our luggage. Wish we had bought more!! Each dress is hand embroidered in different areas of the pattern and they are all different.

We wash our linen after the garment has been made so it is not going to shrink. We do NOT iron - we love our wrinkles! Just hang it to dry on a soft padded coat hanger. We do recommend that you wash your new dress separately the first few times as it may still be shedding a little of the linen 'lint' and possibly some colour. The linen will continue to soften over time.
